Delightful Dutch Bulbfields
Our NEW itinerary has something to please both garden lovers and historians. We have included a visit to Keukenhof and a guided tour to learn about the events that took place in Arnhem during WWII. The tour is based at the group friendly 4-star Best Western Plus Hotel Haarhuis, located in the heart of this welcoming historic city.
A real treat in store today as we head first to Keukenhof, the largest flower garden in the world. Explore the 32 hectares with nearly 7 million bulbs and discover some of the most amazing floral displays ever! Don’t miss the ‘Face of Spring’ Bollenstreek flower parade which passes through ‘Keukenhof Corso Boulevard’ today around 315pm-330pm. Stand back and admire the wonderful floats, completely covered with flowers and led by musicians as they take their annual tour!
This morning we make the short journey to the Dutch Capital, Amsterdam. Enjoy the city’s many attractions including the Rijksmuseum, Ann Franks house and the Heineken Brewery or soak up the atmosphere of this charming city with a cruise around the famous canals.
Arnhem, 'A Bridge Too Far' and Delft
This morning our guide joins our coach for a half day tour and we learn of events that took place in Arnhem during WWII including Operation Market Garden, when British and Polish troops were parachuted behind enemy lines. We will have the opportunity to view the John Frost Bridge, named after the British commanding officer, and made famous in the 1977 film ‘A Bridge Too Far’. Later today we make our way towards our overnight ferry and time permitting the charming town of Delft with its many canals, bridges, intimate squares and small alleys.
