Day 1

Day 1 Home pick up. Arrive early evening in St Agnes.

Day 2

Padstow and Port Isaac. We travel to Padstow. Once the ecclesiastical capital of Cornwall, Padstow has many medieval buildings. In the afternoon, we visit Port Isaac, a traditional fishing village, home to the TV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. This picturesque village has narrow winding streets lined with whitewashed cottages that head down to the harbour where you can watch local fishermen landing their daily catch of fish, crab and lobsters.

Day 3

Splendid St Ives and St Michael’s Mount. We visit the charming seaside resort of St Ives with its cobbled streets, winding between pretty fishermans' cottages. St Ives is also known for its artistic connections. In the afternoon, we travel to Marazion, where the more energetic can visit stunning St Michael’s Mount (National Trust, admission extra). Alternatively, why not relax and soak up one of the finest views in the country.

Day 4

Poldark Tin Mine. We visit the 18th century Poldark Tin Mine and Gardens, a fascinating open-air museum where you can descend 100 feet to experience conditions miners faced every day! Some underground scenes from the TV series were filmed here.

Day 5

At leisure. This small village, once a tin mining community is now an art and crafts centre. There are some lovely coastal walks, including to the iconic disused Wheal Coates tin mine.

Day 6

Truro and historic Charlestown. We visit the cathedral city of Truro. Later we travel to Charlestown, near St Austell. This picturesque Grade II listed harbour doubled for Truro Harbour in ‘Poldark’. Dating from the late 18th century, there are usually historic vessels in port and there is a fascinating Shipwreck Centre.

Day 7

Homeward journey.

Rosemundy House Hotel, St Agnes

We return to this pleasant family-owned and run hotel in an elegant Queen Anne house, set in well maintained secluded gardens in unspoilt St Agnes.
